Outside the Wire exists to walk alongside veterans and their families as they navigate life after service. We provide hands-on VA disability claims assistance, including pension and nursing home support, connect veterans to community resources, and offer outdoor retreat experiences primarily serving Southeast Kansas. Our work includes survivors of Military Sexual Trauma, unit reunification efforts, and families, because healing rarely happens in isolation.
Through nature-based experiences, holistic wellness programming, and peer support, we create space for veterans to reconnect with themselves, with each other, and with the people they love. Our goal is simple: to help those who served find healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose and belonging.
Outside the Wire offers guidance and support with VA disability claims, pension benefits, education assistance, suicide prevention training, hiking, fishing, camping, and connecting veterans with community resources. We are also actively working to expand our services to include group therapy, music and art therapy, and other therapeutic activities designed to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Committed to serving those who have served, we strive to create a sanctuary of healing and hope—where every individual feels supported, empowered, and able to thrive. Stay tuned and follow us on Facebook to keep up with our progress and the development of our programs!
